A WINTER’S FEST EVE DEC. 4 – With Randy Andropolis & Friends
We invite you to welcome the holiday season with the History Center on a “A Winter’s Fest Eve.” Our annual holiday event will begin the season’s celebration at the Col. William Bond/Jesse Hawley House, 143 Ontario St. in Lockport, Thursday, Dec. 4, from 6 – 8:30 p.m.
Randy Andropolis and Friends, our featured performers, will return with a delightful blend of Christmas music and carols.  Randy’s music perfectly re-creates a 19th-century Christmas atmosphere and adds a special holiday touch to this evening. This is his last year entertaining at our event after 25 years. We will join in wishing Randy a fond farewell.
Our National Register-listed, 12-room Federal home/museum will be fully decorated for the season by co-curators Becky and Gloria Pittler. Come and see the nostalgic atmosphere of Christmas in an early Canal era family home featured in the national magazine Early American Life in 2012. This year the holiday decor will also include tablescapes for raffle to benefit our c.1823 house.
Our visitors can partake of holiday cookies and hot mulled cider as they enjoy friendly company and the festive music and setting. Kids will find children’s activities in the library while grown-ups tour the rest of the house. All tours and events are open to the public, and families with children age 8 and up are encouraged to attend.
You can also see the Bond-Hawley House holiday exhibit from 1-4 p.m. every Saturday from Dec. 6-20. Donations are accepted. We can also offer tours for groups of eight or more by reservation. Please call 716-434-7433 to arrange a group tour by appointment for a small admission fee.
