“FUN, FOOD & FOLK” JULY 8 – Join us for good times, great food and a free concert at “Fun, Food & Folk” on Friday, July 8! The Traveling Towpath Troubadours will cruise to Lockport to entertain us as the Bossman BBQ & Catering food truck offers dinner fare, all beside the Canal, just outside the Erie Canal Discovery Center. In the event of rain, the Discovery Center will house this program.
The Towpath Troubadours will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is free. Bossman’s food truck will serve BBQ sandwiches and more from 5:30-8 p.m. Food truck sales benefit the History Center, so plan to enjoy dinner here.
Troubadours Bill and Kay McDonald are journeying along the Canal in July, performing in communities along the way. They’ll perform music of the 1960s and ‘70s, plus original compositions.
The Towpath Troubadours promote the Erie Canal through music, history, the arts, nature, fitness and more in Canal communities like ours here in Lockport.
Bill and Kay are members of the band “Old Hippies” and their style as a duo is very similar. For an advance look and listen, check out the Old Hippies on Facebook and see several of the band’s performances posted to YouTube.
This program is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts and the Go Art! Program of the Genesee-Orleans Regional Arts Council.
Plan to bring your lawn chairs and settle in to enjoy a summer evening of music and food along the Erie Canal in Lockport.
Don’t miss “Fun, Food & Folk” by the mighty Erie Canal on Friday, July 8. For more information please call the History Center at (716) 434-7433.
