HISTORY CENTER TAKES TOP PRIZE IN MODERN DISPOSAL LOCKPORT CONTEST –
Facebook contest votes and support for recycling in Lockport brought in a $416 top award for the History Center in a recent contest sponsored by Modern Disposal Services.
The History Center competed with two other Lockport not-for- profit organizations. They are: second prize, Mental Health Association in Niagara County ($364), and third prize, St. John the Baptist Outreach Center ($260).
The Facebook vote contest ran from August 1-15, with the recycling portion concluding in September. The donation amount was based on the number of Facebook votes and amount of recycling by Lockport residents.
We appreciate this great support from Modern Disposal and our community. Modern takes a great interest in local organizations like ours, which strive to carry out their missions with limited resources. Our Facebook fans and Lockport recyclers came through for us and our competition and we thank them.
