RING IN THE HOLIDAYS AT THE BOND HOUSE – Join us for an evening of family fun as we kick off the Christmas season in Victorian style!
Celebrate a Victorian Christmas with us as we kick off the joyous season Thursday, Dec. 1, with “A Winter’s Fest Eve.” The History Center’s Col. William Bond/Jesse Hawley House, 143 Ontario St. in Lockport, is your door into “Christmas Past” from 6-8:30 p.m. Please visit and enjoy holiday décor, refreshments and music, all in the 19th-century holiday spirit.
The Bond-Hawley House is a National Register-listed, 12-room Federal home/museum. Each room in the fully furnished house will be decorated for Christmas as a Canal era family home. Stop in for homemade cookies and hot mulled cider, children’s activities and tours. “A Winter’s Fest Eve” is the perfect event for families with children age 8 and up.
The duo “Another Thyme” will entertain with seasonal music throughout the evening.
The exhibit is co-curated by Becky and Gloria Pittler. Their imagination and skill transform the Bond House each year into a Victorian home celebrating the holiday season in traditional style. The historic Bond-Hawley House is Lockport’s oldest brick home, built in 1823 by Col. Bond and later owned by Erie Canal advocate Jesse Hawley.
Ring in an authentic Victorian Christmas with us this year for “A Winter’s Fest Eve.” Reservations are not necessary – drop by for an evening of hospitality and good wishes! Donations will be accepted to help in the upkeep of this special home.
