OKTOBERFEST October 18 – Celebrate Oktoberfest with us on Saturday, Oct. 18! This year we’re headed to Wrights Corners Fire Company, 4043 Lake Ave. in Lockport, from 6-10 p.m. to celebrate the very best in Bavarian food and music, to benefit the Niagara History Center.
Once again, Donna Eick will present a fine buffet of delicious German food, including all the traditional, old-fashioned favorites we’ve loved at past Oktoberfests. The dinner will include sauerbraten, bratwurst, roast pork, sauerkraut, sweet and sour cabbage, German potato salad, chef salad and more, including dessert. You can also purchase beer or soft drinks from the cash bar.
We’ll dance to the music of the Frankfurters, an authentic Bavarian-Swiss band, whose music and instruments are always a delight. Drawing on centuries-old traditions, the Frankfurters pull out all the stops, presenting colorful and exciting German entertainment. Count on them to play hand-carved wooden Swiss alphorns, singing-saw and Alpine bells. And we’ll enjoy plenty of yodeling as the Frankfurters give us unforgettable music all evening long.
It wouldn’t be a party without our Basket Raffle. Plan to purchase tickets and take home some unique treasures. We’ll also draw the winner of our Amish Quilt Raffle, so buy your chances now to win this blue and white, handmade “Woven Ribbons” quilt.
Tickets for Oktoberfest, including German music and dinner to benefit the History Center, are $35. Call for your reservation at 434-7433.
Enjoy an Oktoberfest evening with us and celebrate traditions of Old Bavaria right here in Niagara County. Mark your calendar for Saturday, Oct. 18, and get ready for a memorable evening of good food, music and friends as you support the mission and programs of the Niagara History Center.
