Join the fun at our 2015 Oktoberfest, Saturday, Oct. 10, and enjoy an authentic celebration of Bavarian food and music benefiting the Niagara History Center. The place to be is Wrights Corners Fire Hall, 4043 Lake Ave., Lockport, from 6-10 p.m.
We’ll savor Donna Eick’s buffet dinner of delicious German food, featuring all the old-fashioned Oktoberfest favorites. The mouth-watering fare will include bratwurst, roast pork, sauerkraut, sweet and sour cabbage, German potato salad, chef salad and more, plus dessert. You’ll also find beer and soft drinks for purchase from a cash bar.
After dinner we’ll dance to the sounds of the Frankfurters, an authentic Bavarian-Swiss band, and enjoy traditional Oktoberfest music and instruments. The Frankfurters draw on centuries of Bavarian culture as they present great German entertainment. They’ll play hand-carved wooden Swiss alphorns, a singing-saw and Alpine bells. The Frankfurters will be in fine voice for yodeling, too, for an exciting musical treat all evening long.
Special prize drawings will add to the fun. Take a chance to win some unique gift items in the Basket Raffle, with many opportunities to take home wonderful treats and treasures. We’ll also draw for the winner of a handmade Amish Quilt in the “Courthouse Steps” pattern. Get your quilt drawing tickets now at the History Center for $1 per ticket or $5 for a book of six.
Tickets for the Oktoberfest benefit evening, including German music and dinner, are $35. Please call the History Center for reservations at (716) 434-7433.
