OLD-TIME CRACKER BARREL DISCUSSION – WRIGHTS CORNERS OF ’30s & ’40s
Imagine life in Niagara County’s Wrights Corners in the 1930’s and ‘40s. Better yet, hear the reminiscences of three local residents who want their audience to share in their memories and conversation. Stop by the Niagara History Center for an “Old-Time Cracker Barrel Discussion” of growing up in Wrights Corners, featuring natives Dick Gallagher, Mary Eldredge Urtel and Mary Wick Hahn, Thursday, April 24, at 2 pm.
Dick Gallagher and Mary Eldredge Urtel grew up on Slayton Settlement Road, and Mary Wick Hahn lived on Wick Road, all in the ‘30’s and ‘40’s. They’ll tell of their own experiences and recall many other Wrights Corners residents who may be familiar to History Center visitors and friends. All three speakers heartily encourage audience participation, so come prepared to share your own memories of people and places in Wrights Corners over the years. Participants of all ages are welcome and those of every era will have their own recollections worth telling.
Dick, Mary Urtel and Mary Hahn all hope the “Cracker Barrel Discussion” format will encourage other Niagara County natives to share their own treasured memories of town and village life in future programs at the History Center.
