21st Annual Key to the Locks Award Ceremony

Do you know of anyone who exemplifies the community spirit of Lockport, or who promotes the heritage and preservation of the historic Erie Canal? Then they are deserving of your nomination for the prestigious Key to the Locks award! For 21 years, the Niagara History Center has celebrated those who have given back to their community through volunteer service or dedication to initiatives that serve all Lockportians, and by extension, all of Niagara County and Western New York. The city and region may have been born from the creation of the Erie Canal, but it is continuing to be molded and shaped by its dedicated citizens.

Nomination forms can be picked up from the Niagara History Center’s Main Campus located at 215 Niagara Street, Lockport, NY 14094 or downloaded below. Deadline for submission is April 20, 2026.
