Erie Canal Family Fun Day
Registration is encouraged (get tickets below) but walk-ins are welcome on the day of the event!

It’s the 200th anniversary of the opening of the Erie Canal and what better way to celebrate than a FREE family day at the Niagara History Center. Upon arrival, each child will receive their “Packet Boat Bill of Lading” which they can fill in with stamps earned by visiting eight canal related sites throughout the museum and grounds. At each venue they will learn about a different aspect of the Erie Canal and do a brief hands-on activity. Locations include a general store, blacksmith, apple farmer, land office and other places connected to the Erie Canal. Other stand- alone activities will also be offered in addition to the “Bill of Lading” journey through the museum buildings.
