Locks District demonstration.

Home of the historic Erie Canal Flight of Five Locks, the Lockport Locks Heritage District offers a first-hand look at the wonders of the waterway which date back to the 19th Century Enlarged Erie Canal Era. Visitors can enjoy the self-guided Riley’s Way walking tour and the Lock Tenders Tribute Monument. 

They offer docent-led tours of the Flight of Five and Lock demonstrations Monday through Friday, including locking through our Durham-style vessel, the “Erie Traveler,” free of charge to the public every Saturday, from 11 am – 1 pm through September 5.

This five building museum complex includes exhibits, our Outwater gift shop, a meeting room, and staff offices.

ERIE CANAL DISCOVERY CENTER- 24 Church St. Lockport N.Y.

The Erie Canal Discovery Center offers users an immersive movie, and a hands on learning experience to help visitors to better understand the history of the Erie Canal.

This 1824 brick home, is on the National Register of Historic Homes. Our annual Christmas event, is on the first Thursday of December from 6- 8:30 P.M.
