About

The Niagara History Center

The Niagara County Historical Society presents a glimpse of area life in Niagara County over the last 175 years at its three sites.

Our Mission

The Niagara History Center preserves, promotes and interprets the diverse cultural heritage of the people, places and events related to Niagara County and the Erie Canal. We are a collaborative community resource for lifelong learning for current and future generations.

Our Vision

The Niagara History Center is a vital community asset and the catalyst for connecting Niagara County’s past, present and future.

The Outwater Memorial Building, 215 Niagara Street, Lockport, NY, is the headquarters for the Niagara County Historical Society. This 1863 brick home features a Victorian Parlor, Historic Pantry, Old Toy Room, the Civil War Room and a Changing Exhibit Room. The Erie Canal Discovery Center, 24 Church Street, and Col.
