Greetings History Supporters!
It’s time for the Niagara History Center’s
Annual Spring Appeal.
Donations to this drive
contribute to our ongoing
mission to preserve, promote and interpret the
diverse cultural heritage of the people, places and
events related to Niagara County and the Erie Canal
through tours, programs and special events.
The Niagara History Center maintains and interprets seven
buildings at three locations in Lockport. The main campus at
215 Niagara Street has five buildings with exhibits on
Native Americans, pioneers, transportation, the Civil War,
agriculture and trades, business and industry, and a
restored 1835 land/law office. The Erie Canal Discovery
Center at 24 Church Street offers exhibits, a short film and
hands-on elements on the history of the “Flight of Five” locks
on the canal in Lockport. The Col. William Bond House at
143 Ontario Street is an 1824 National Register house
furnished in the mid-19th century period.
